THE DIRECTOR GENERAL OF THE WEST AFRICAN MONETARY AGENCY (WAMA), MR. BOIMA S. KAMARA, PAYS A COURTESY CALL ON THE MINISTER OF FINANCE AND DEVELOPMENT PLANNING OF THE REPUBLIC OF LIBERIA, HON. AUGUSTINE KPEHE NGAFUAN

On 30 January 2025, the newly appointed Director General of the West African Monetary Agency (WAMA), Mr. Boima S. Kamara, paid a courtesy call on the Minister of Finance & Development Planning of the Republic of Liberia, Hon. Augustine Kpehe Ngafuan. In attendance were the Deputy Minister of Economic Management, Hon. Dehpue Zuo and the Chief of Staff in the Office of the Minister, Mr. Edward Smith. DG Kamara’s delegation included Dr. Gradé Momèle Kipré and Dr. Mawuli Gaddah, the Directors of Financial Integration Department and Multilateral Surveillance Department, respectively.

Hon. Ngafuan expressed heartfelt congratulations to DG Kamara who is also the former Minister of Finance & Development Planning of the Republic of Liberia. He noted that the President and the people of Liberia are proud of DG Kamara’s appointment as the first Liberian to occupy this position. He assured DG Kamara of Liberia’s full support during his tenure at WAMA and wished him all the best as he embarks on his new responsibilities. Deputy Minister Zuo and the Chief of Staff also took turns to congratulate the DG and wished him well.

DG Kamara ceased the opportunity to thank the current and past Presidents of the Republic of Liberia for giving him the opportunity to serve the country at the highest level. He called for strategic collaboration and political support for WAMA to enable the Agency, which is transformed from the West African Clearing House (WACH), and now leading the ECOWAS single currency programme and the ECOWAS Payment And Settlement System (EPSS), to deliver on its mandate.
