STATISTICAL BULLETIN Volume 1 – 2013

As part of its activities, the West Africa Monetary Agency (WAMA) collects macroeconomic data from member countries’ Central Banks, Ministries of Finance and Statistical Institutes to assess the performance of each country in terms of convergence. These data are subject to serious processing for the computation of the convergence criteria which are published on a half-yearly basis. However, it should be noted that data collected from the various macroeconomic accounts are not disseminated except those that are shown in the appendix of the convergence report. The Agency, through this statistical bulletin, seeks to provide more information on the macroeconomic situation of member countries. Thus, this report, far from being exhaustive, simply aims at putting at the disposal of researchers and the public, useful information that will facilitate the relevant assessments of ECOWAS member countries. Any errors and inconsistencies may be reported with a view to improving the bulletin.
